Locker hooking is a rag rug making technique which is brilliant for making strong rugs from a variety of different materials including thin, fine fabrics such as cotton, sari material and T-shirts, all sorts of yarns and even un-spun fleece. It is a great technique for recycling old silk scarves, netting, ribbons and summer dresses. Locker hooking involves pulling loops of fabric or yarn up through a rug canvas base and holding them in place with a thread which runs through all the loops securing them and making a strong finish, it is especially good for geometric designs.
