Ruggers, bodgers and prodders are all traditional tools for making shaggy rag rugs with long pile.
Ruggers (sometimes also called bodgers) pull the rags through the hessian on the front side of the rug whist prodders push the rags through from the back. The gauges are aides for cutting all the pieces the same size.
Hooks are used to make looped rugs with low pile which are traditionally often pictorial. Hooks come in a range of sizes from 2mm to 10mm for working with yarns, rags and fleece.
Miscellaneous tools include tools to use with rug canvas such as locker needles and latch hooks and other unusual tools which can prove very useful for rag rug making.
